The accounting gap matters. That $782,000 ETH purchase is a fraction of the $5.18 million HYPE sale. The rest of the proceeds? Unclear. Lookonchain reported one data point. The full transaction trail hasn&#x27;t been independently verified. Read the whale signal with that gap in mind.
Still, the contrast got attention. Lookonchain&#x27;s post generated more than 73,000 interactions. The on-chain counternarrative resonated. BeInCrypto flagged it as early as June 23, noting ETH&#x27;s network activity was pointing toward rotational dynamics that ETF flow data alone wasn&#x27;t capturing.
Ethereum&#x27;s social metrics add context. ETH carried a LunarCrush Galaxy Score of 57.8 at the time of data capture. AltRank of 38. 40.7 million 24-hour interactions trending upward, per signal data tied to CoinGecko&#x27;s market reporting. That social momentum came alongside a <a href="https://www.thecoinzone.com/news/world-foundation-sells-65m-wld-tokens-drop/" data-wpil-monitor-id="2382">price decline</a> of 1.57%.
The core question heading into Q3: do June&#x27;s <a href="https://www.thecoinzone.com/news/ethereum-etf-outflows-273-million-sharplink-on-chain/" data-wpil-monitor-id="2383">ETF outflows</a> signal genuine long-term bearishness on ETH? Or a macro risk-off rotation by institutional holders in a wrapper product?
