Robinhood’s on-chain push is gaining traction. Robinhood Chain has crossed $100 million in total value locked, according to <a href="https://defillama.com/chain/robinhood-chain?tvl=false&amp;dexsVolume=true&amp;groupBy=cumulative" target="_blank" rel="noopener">DefiLlama</a> data as reported by crypto community account DegenerateNews. That milestone lands alongside a major integration. PancakeSwap is now live on the chain. Users can <a href="https://www.thecoinzone.com/defi/what-is-a-gasless-swap/" data-wpil-monitor-id="2553">trade more than 90 tokenized assets with zero gas fees</a>.
PancakeSwap announced the integration on its official account. The exact language: “Trade 90+ tokenized assets on Robinhood Crypto Chain with zero gas fees and built-in MEV protection.” MEV stands for <a href="https://www.thecoinzone.com/news/crypto-trading-blockchain-infrastructure-control/" data-wpil-monitor-id="2552">maximal extractable value</a>. It’s the profit validators can pull by reordering transactions in a block. Ordinary users typically pay the price. PancakeSwap’s documentation describes MEV protection as a built-in feature of its PancakeSwap X integration. That claim hasn’t been verified by an independent technical audit.
Robinhood Chain is an Ethereum-compatible Layer-2. It’s built on Arbitrum infrastructure, per Robinhood’s official chain documentation. The chain is designed to bring <a href="https://www.thecoinzone.com/defi/token-vs-coin/" data-wpil-monitor-id="2556">tokenized assets</a> and on-chain tools to Robinhood’s retail base. Liquidity was baked in from the start. On July 1, 2026, 0x announced it would power swap liquidity and cross-chain access at launch. Gaëtan Thabot, Director of Partnerships at Robinhood Crypto, said it plainly: “0x has been a trusted Robinhood Wallet partner since 2023, making them an obvious choice for a day one integration on Robinhood Chain.”
$100 million is modest. Aave and Uniswap hold billions. But this isn’t Aave. It’s Robinhood. Tens of millions of retail brokerage users. Most of them have never touched a <a href="https://www.thecoinzone.com/news/oobit-launches-crypto-bank-payment-service/" data-wpil-monitor-id="2554">self-custody wallet</a>. For that audience, $100M means something different. According to Robinhood’s newsroom, the chain is part of a broader push. Stock tokens, agentic trading, a wider DeFi product suite. It’s a bigger bet than the TVL number suggests.
Not everyone’s buying it. Community account badattrading_ asked a pointed question. It pulled more than 67,000 interactions in the Ethereum discussion bucket, per LunarCrush data. The question: “Are Robinhood coins just ETH coins with bigger <a href="https://www.thecoinzone.com/defi/what-is-matcha-xyz/" data-wpil-monitor-id="2555">liquidity</a> pools?” It’s not a technical analysis. It reflects a real tension. Robinhood Chain is EVM-compatible. It runs on Arbitrum. Some observers aren’t sure it’s a distinct chain. It might just be a branded Ethereum L2 with controlled asset access. That debate sounds familiar. Base got the same criticism early on. It eventually established itself as a genuine open DeFi hub. Robinhood Chain hasn’t done that yet.
The PancakeSwap integration deepens the chain’s DEX infrastructure. It’s still early. Whether the chain becomes an open, composable DeFi environment or stays a curated product layer depends on what comes next: developer access, asset listings, liquidity policy.
