Spot Ethereum ETFs pulled in $70.5 million on July 8, 2026. That&#x27;s the largest single-day inflow in roughly 28 days. It also extends a five-consecutive-day buying streak. <a href="https://www.thecoinzone.com/regulation/ethereum-etfs/" data-wpil-monitor-id="2559">Bitcoin ETFs</a>? Net outflows that same day. Ethereum was the only <a href="https://www.thecoinzone.com/news/major-crypto-bill-senate-committee-april/" data-wpil-monitor-id="2564">major crypto</a> ETF category in positive territory for the session.
That five-day streak adds up. Approximately $162 million in cumulative net flows into U.S. spot Ethereum products, according to Decrypt and Crypto Briefing. Market observers are noticing. <a href="https://www.thecoinzone.com/news/ethereum-etf-outflows-273-million-sharplink-on-chain/" data-wpil-monitor-id="2558">Ethereum ETFs spent most of their early life trailing Bitcoin</a> products badly. That&#x27;s shifting.
The July 8 contrast was sharp. <a href="https://www.thecoinzone.com/blockchain/btc-etf-explained/" data-wpil-monitor-id="2567">Bitcoin ETFs</a> recorded roughly $84 million in net outflows. <a href="https://www.thecoinzone.com/news/morgan-stanley-ethereum-solana-etf-amended-filings/" data-wpil-monitor-id="2568">Solana and XRP ETFs</a> reportedly posted outflows too, though those figures carry less independent confirmation at time of writing. Ethereum stood alone. The only <a href="https://www.thecoinzone.com/news/crypto-pacs-influence-2025-elections/" data-wpil-monitor-id="2566">major crypto</a> ETF category attracting net institutional capital that day.
That isolation means more now. U.S. <a href="https://www.thecoinzone.com/news/first-us-spot-dogecoin-etf-nasdaq-launch/" data-wpil-monitor-id="2563">spot Ethereum ETFs launched</a> mid-2024 after SEC approval. They spent months trailing Bitcoin inflows. Demand for <a href="https://www.thecoinzone.com/regulation/clarity-act-stablecoins-eth-defi-explained/" data-wpil-monitor-id="2561">ETH exposure through regulated</a> wrappers was inconsistent through late 2024 and into 2025. The landscape&#x27;s changed. Spot products now exist for Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and XRP, as CoinDesk noted in early July coverage. Cross-asset flow comparisons actually mean something now.
One day of divergence isn&#x27;t a rotation. Five straight days of inflows totaling over $160 million is different. That&#x27;s happening against outflows in Bitcoin, Solana, and XRP on the same session. Institutional observers watch patterns like that.
What&#x27;s driving it? Unclear. Could be valuation arguments gaining traction in <a href="https://www.thecoinzone.com/tradfi/margin-trading-and-leverage-is-dangerous/" data-wpil-monitor-id="2557">traditional finance</a>. Could be <a href="https://www.thecoinzone.com/defi/what-is-a-protocol-in-crypto/" data-wpil-monitor-id="2560">Ethereum protocol</a> developments. Could be repositioning within existing crypto allocations. The data doesn&#x27;t say yet.
What it does confirm: for at least one week in early July 2026, <a href="https://www.thecoinzone.com/news/us-ethereum-etfs-501m-outflows-june-whale-rotation/" data-wpil-monitor-id="2565">Ethereum ETFs</a> were absorbing capital that was leaving everywhere else. How long that lasts will shape the <a href="https://www.thecoinzone.com/regulation/institutional-crypto-trading/" data-wpil-monitor-id="2562">institutional crypto</a> conversation for weeks ahead.
